2nd Workshop Manager Meeting: Intensive training for the upcoming “home fixture”
The second Workshop Manager Meeting was held at the WIFI headquarters in Graz from April 10 to 13. The meeting included the first intensive training sessions to prepare the Workshop Managers for their various tasks that will be launched in 2020, and was also an excellent opportunity for the 44 participants representing 29 different professions to get to know each other and exchange views and ideas. The declared aim of the meeting was to achieve a common stand on the issue of the comprehensive future responsibilities for the Workshop Managers and to establish further preparatory steps now for Euroskills 2020.
Technical Manager and “Head of Competition” for EuroSkills 2020, Stefan Praschl, together with Eugene Incerti, Technical Director of World Skills Europe, provided the 20 newcomers with a comprehensive picture of the history and the thinking behind EuroSkills on day one and also explained the future cooperation that is planned for this mega event.
All the participants then assembled on day two for the core joint preparation meeting work. This not only included a tour of the Graz exhibition grounds and facilities, but also preparatory work for EuroSkills 2018 in Budapest, where the workshop managers will already acquire first valuable practical experience as “technical observers” for their deployment in Graz.
The successful meeting concluded with a group photo of all the participants together with CEOs Harald del Negro and Angelika Ledineg and the President of the Styrian Economic Chamber, Josef Herk.
