A new sponsor: Liebherr supports the Heavy Vehicle Technology Skill

EuroSkills 2020 welcomes the international technology company Liebherr to its sponsorship programme. And EuroSkills entrants competing in the Heavy Vehicle Technology Skill will benefit in particular from our new sponsor, as the Liebherr plant based in Bischofshofen, Austria, will be providing the vehicles needed for the three-day professional competition.

Liebherr is a true specialist in this area. The company’s plant in Bischofshofen is the centre of competence for wheel loaders for the entire Liebherr Group. Moreover, the first Austria-based Liebherr plant, which was founded in 1960 and today employs around 1,100 staff, is also the service and distribution centre for all construction machines in Austria.

According to managing director Manfred Santner (from the Liebherr plant Bischofshofen GmbH), the focus is primarily on the dual education system and the high standard of education in Austria. This is something that EuroSkills 2020 will be putting to the test spectacularly: “At EuroSkills 2020, young, skilled workers will be turning out peak performances at the highest level,” he says. “At the Liebherr plant in Bischofshofen, we are currently training 67 talented young people in seven different apprenticeship trades. As a premium manufacturer of construction equipment, having highly trained specialist staff is a key success factor for us and for our customers. By making this commitment to EuroSkills 2020, we wish to emphasize the importance of dual education, our domestic industry and its skilled workers.”

We should like to thank Liebherr once again for their fantastic support and look forward to working with them!
