Festo is a main sponsor of EuroSkills 2020

The two “skills of the future”, Industry 4.0 and Mechatronics, will rely on practice equipment supplied by Festo Didactic. Festo Austria has been supporting skills contests in future-oriented skills and trades for many years, and – as a main sponsor – is therefore also one of the biggest sponsors of EuroSkills 2020.

Festo Austria is a market leader in automation, including pneumatics and electronics, and also plays a key role in technical education and training. Mechatronics and Industry 4.0 are indispensable elements of digital transformation and smart production, making it even more important to provide stimuli for the education and training of tomorrow. Rainer Ostermann, managing director of Festo Austria, highlights the company’s commitment to EuroSkills 2020: “Mechatronics is really great fun – it’s an interdisciplinary skill for truly creative minds.  We want to share this enthusiasm and turn it into an exciting experience. At EuroSkills 2020 you’ll get a real sense of what it’s like to do this job.”

As well as watching the thrilling competitions, this time the young visitors can also have a go themselves at various skills and trades and learn more about them.

In the Mechatronics skill, Festo will be responsible for setting up the Try-a-Skill station where there will be fascinating insights into new technologies, the latest trends and modern-day training opportunities.

“The young people competing at this event are the leading experts of tomorrow. Which makes it all the more important that they work with the best equipment”, says Ostermann.

EuroSkills 2020 would like to thank Festo Austria once again for their generous support and collaboration – We are Skills!
