On 25 November, the national championships are taking place with the best young skilled workers competing for the title. Around 400 competitors in some 39 skills and professions will compete at AustrianSkills 2018. Two changes have been introduced this year: Firstly, 15 new skills and professions (for example plumbers, industry 4.0 engineers and store sellers) have been added as disciplines at AustrianSkills. Secondly, the winners in these events have a good chance of competing at their home European championships in Graz in 2020 – the decision will be taken soon. As in previous years, the championships will be staged as part of the careers fair in Salzburg. Visitors to that event will not only have the opportunity to watch Austria’s best young skilled workers in action, but can also obtain detailed information on the subject of vocational training. Do call by and watch the competitions any time between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm – it’ll definitely be worthwhile!
