One of the newest EuroSkills 2020 suppliers is the globally operating enterprise Geberit. The European market leader in sanitary products will of course be supporting the Plumbing and Heating competition skill.

We can’t imagine doing without heating, running water and hot water in our everyday lives. Plumbing and Heating is one of the key skills of the construction industry, and the EuroSkills 2020 competitors must be able to design, install, repair and maintain operational heating and water systems. An important supporter of the three-day competition is the internationally operating company Geberit, which has its headquarters in Switzerland. The company is sponsoring EuroSkills 2020 and therefore also young, skilled workers from all over Europe by providing the required materials such as piping, drainage systems and supply systems.

Guido Salentinig, managing director of Geberit’s sales company in Austria, explains why the company decided to support EuroSkills 2020: “Geberit is involved with EuroSkills because we think that it is very important to reinforce the image of skills and trades. From many discussions with our customers, the plumbers, we are seeing that the shortage of skilled workers is not only imminent but has become a harsh reality. That’s why we welcome any measures that make vocational occupations more attractive for young people. EuroSkills is making a major contribution to this cause by casting the spotlight on the accomplishments of young, skilled workforces. We are particularly delighted that the EuroSkills event is taking place in Austria in 2021.”
