Special honour for Styrian EuroSkills competitors

On the occasion of the New Year’s Reception held by the Styrian Economic Chamber on 16th January, the Styrian EuroSkills 2018 competitors were officially honoured. In his address, the President of the Styrian Economic Chamber and Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Josef Herk, not only talked about the forthcoming vocational skills championships 2020 in Graz but also praised the outstanding achievements of the young skilled workers at the last EuroSkills event in Budapest.
His commendation pleased Markus Pelzl and David Andrawes, silver medallists in the Mobile Robotics team event, as well as freight forwarding logistics expert Michaela Dužić, who also won silver. Lukas Hofer, who was awarded a Medaillon for Excellence in plastering and drywall systems, was accompanied by his coach, Alexander Dasek. Michael Tobisch, who coached Lisa Janisch for her gold medal win in Gothenburg in 2016, attended the event at the “Europasaal” of the Styrian Economic Chamber on behalf of his protégé, Patrick Reitbauer. Reitbauer also achieved a superb first place for Painting and Decorating in Budapest.
As well as being praised the competitors were also awarded vouchers to attend seminars at the WIFI Business Academy. Josef Herk rightly described these outstanding Styrian skilled workers as role models, and also had a few words of advice for all talented successors: “You can do it, too!”
