Support for the Health and Social Care skill category

EuroSkills 2020 has recently welcomed a new Bronze sponsor: the Association of Counselling and Social Care, which is part of the Austrian Economic Chamber.  And, not surprisingly, this new sponsor will be supporting EuroSkills particularly in the Health and Social Care competition category.

Around 90,000 independent social care workers ensure that elderly people throughout Austria can continue living in their own homes – well looked after by highly trained carers. By assisting with housework and everyday tasks, as well as providing daily company and helping with many other activities, they bring care and support to a great many senior citizens with services ranging from hourly support to 24-hour care. Those competing at EuroSkills 2020 will put their knowledge and expertise in this area to the test, as — with the help of actors — they handle realistic care and support situations and dialogue scenarios in front of an audience.

“As an association representing almost 90,000 independent healthcare assistants and social care workers, as well as agencies, who are committed to ensuring that Austrians requiring care can remain at home in their familiar surroundings, we are giving our full support to EuroSkills 2020 in Austria.  We applaud anyone who uses their passion and knowledge to advance their professional development, thereby helping to ensure that our wellbeing and our quality of life can be maintained,” says Andreas Herz, chairman of the Association of Counselling and Social Care and vice president of the Styrian Economic Chamber.

We are extremely grateful for the Association’s invaluable support. We are Skills!
