A new company has recently joined the ranks of the EuroSkills 2020 suppliers in the form of Testo, which will be supporting the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning skill in the Construction and Building Technology category.

Testo has been developing and selling electronic measuring equipment for more than 60 years. From its roots as a small business manufacturing electronic clinical thermometers, it has grown into a multinational company which now operates in all corners of the world. Testo Austria was founded in 1981, which makes it one of Testo’s most long-standing subsidiaries. The company, which is headquartered in Vienna, will be supporting EuroSkills 2020 as a supplier of various materials and tools for the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning skill, such as vacuum gauges, surface temperature probes and pipe sensors, to be used during the three-day contest. Markus Parth, managing director of Testo’s Austrian subsidiary, explains why the company is lending its support for young, skilled workers from all over Europe: “For us here at Testo, a leading manufacturer of hand-held measuring devices, the decision to support EuroSkills 2020 was obvious and made without hesitation. This event brings together motivated young people and highlights the importance of skilled trades. Right now the economy needs qualified tradespeople, and this competition showcases the skills and expertise of young people. The contest will bring these skills and expertise to the attention of the general public and might inspire new candidates to pursue a skilled trade.”
