Participants representing the concrete construction skill are gaining excellent support: The PORR Group construction company is now on board as a supplier of EuroSkills 2020.

Over the past 150 years, PORR has become one of Europe’s leading construction companies in keeping with its motto of “intelligent building connects people”. This success is built upon the commitment and pioneering spirit of PORR’s 20,000 or so staff members.
Construction is a “people-driven business” and requires staff with excellent training. To prepare for the future, PORR is already training tomorrow’s construction professionals in-house. EuroSkills puts the spotlight on the apprentices’ skills and provides the stage for them to showcase their talents. That’s why PORR is glad to be part of the team and will add both young talented participants and an enthusiastic sponsor.
Michael Heissenberger, who is in charge of PORR’s in-house apprenticeship training, is delighted about cooperating with and participating at EuroSkills: “For us, EuroSkills2020 has many advantages. First of all, young people can showcase their skills in public, in front of a wide audience. This would never be possible in a company. At a competition, they also receive feedback so they can see how their performance ranks compared with others. Training, preparation and competitions can considerably improve skills and teach them how to deal with stressful situations. On top of this, it is a great honour and a wonderful feeling to represent your home country.”
