Workshop managers off to a running start

Some of our workshop managers were back in demand this week. During small group meetings at the Styrian Economic Chamber offices, they were brought up to date with the preparations for EuroSkills 2020 by our Head of Competitions Stefan Praschl and Thomas Wurditsch (project staff member Competitions). During these talks, the workshop managers were given the first rough layouts for the planned competition areas at Messe Congress Graz. These were discussed in detail, along with the planned Try-a-Skill areas that our workshop managers also need to know about.

An item equally high on the agenda: workplace safety. This is especially important for the competitors and workshop managers, as the appropriate safety measures guarantee that no unfortunate incidents occur during the three competition days and that the competitors can concentrate fully on the task in hand. Another topic discussed was the planning for the Competition Preparation Meeting (CPM) in March 2020, at which the workshop managers will also play an important role in terms of preparation. And since advance planning is so important for any project on such a large scale, the workshop managers were able to take a first look at their working schedule during EuroSkills 2020 and were asked to estimate how many volunteers will be required for each field of activity.
