STABILA as a strong partner in the construction industry

This blog is a guest contribution of our sponsor STABILA.

With two gold medals and a bronze in the bag, the German construction industry’s national team had plenty to celebrate at WorldSkills, the World championships for vocational skills, in Kazan last August. As a sponsor and partner in craftsmanship, we at STABILA are especially delighted when the tremendous effort and many hours of preparation are eventually crowned with success.

Let us introduce you to the winners:

Janis Gentner (21) from Aalen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg came top in the tiling competition and took the gold medal home.

The bronze medal was secured by a two-man team of concrete and steel-reinforced concrete construction workers, Julian Kiesl (20) from Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg in Bavaria and Niklas Berroth (21) from Sulzbach-Laufen in Baden-Württemberg.

We were particularly excited to share in the success of Alexander Bruns (22), who represented Germany in the Skill Carpentry. He, too, picked up a gold medal. Alexander comes from Bad Dürkheim in Rhineland-Palatinate and grew up close to our headquarters and production site. And so we were particularly pleased when Alexander (who is also the European champion) came to see us as at our STABILA Campus training centre shortly after becoming the new world champion.  He told us about his experiences and impressions of the world championships and our expert Philipp Scholz (Head of Training) demonstrated some products to him.
“I spent four really wonderful days in Kazan – everything was just perfect!” he says. It was a fantastic competition and I can only recommend to any young craftsperson who has the opportunity to compete in EuroSkills or WorldSkills, to give it their best shot. Who knows, maybe we will meet one day, because I really would love to watch a competition like this from a visitor’s perspective,” said Alexander at the STABILA site.

This is something that we can really relate to, here at STABILA! Maybe we’ll be lucky enough one year to welcome the new European champion here in Annweiler as well. And so we would like to wish all EuroSkills competitors all the best for their preparations. Good luck, and have fun – see you in Graz!
